What is Real-Time Optimization?

Real-Time Optimization (RTO) is a process that continuously adjusts operational parameters in a system to achieve optimal performance based on real-time data.

Shell Malaysia E&P has implemented models for real-time monitoring and optimization of wells and facilities on the integrated Gas Production System in Sarawak. This gas production network spans more than 100 wells across over 40 platforms, covering several different Production Sharing Contracts (PSCs).

We highlight how Digital Oil Field (DOF) practices enable field-based data to be turned into information, support decision making, and lead to actions that ensure production is optimized continuously.
